    Piece your first block

    1. Get a rotary cutter, mat and quilting ruler — Accurate cutting tools plus some cotton fabric. Precise pieces are what let a quilt go together flat.
    2. Cut accurate strips and squares — Straight, square, the exact size the pattern calls for. Every wonky quilt starts with a wonky cut.
